ALCIM participates in a Project to create Intelligent Data Sheets that support Collaborative Work Processes
ALCIM, with its Headquarters in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, is participating in a Project which aims to facilitate Integrated Operations (IO) by developing neutral product models to support data exchange and integration. For this purpose the Project Team is creating “Intelligent Data Sheets” which will be used to support new collaborative work processes within and between organisations. The Project hopes to establish soon a test facility to manage reference data and validate data exchange and prototype software interfaces. Work on the Project is scheduled to commence on 1st January 2006.
The Project is a collaborative effort between Det Norske Veritas (DNV) of Norway, the International Standards Organisation, the FIATECH AEX Project in the USA, POSC Caesar Association, iXiT Engneering Technology GmbH, Statoil, OLF, FMC Technologies, the University of Stavanger, and some of the leading Enterprise Solution Providers in the world.
As ALCIM has already created more than 200 Intelligent Data Sheets (IDS) on its own (for its COMOS IS industry standard solution based on the RDL Attributes), it was invited by DNV to participate in this prestigious Project.
To be managed by Det Norske Veritas (DNV), this three-year project shall be based on ISO 15926 and a Reference Data Library (RDL) to achieve its main objectives. It shall have the following five major phases.
- Methodology.
- Developing product models for Intelligent Data Sheets
in ISO 15926-4.
- Testing and Information Quality.
- New Business Processes.
- Demonstration and Internationalization.
ALCIM is indeed very proud to be associated with this Project which, apart from providing open information models, will help to create an international standard for use by the oil and gas industry.
ALCIM’s customers stand to benefit from this R&D Project which, when completed in the year 2008, “shall make technical data much more accessible for sharing and exchange across disciplines, organizations and geographical distances.”
